Can the battery free IoT Pixel used as an simple iBeacon Alternative?

Is it possible to use the battery free IoT Pixels as an alternative to iBeacons without any bridge or gateway, only supplied by the electromagnetic field of 2.4GHz WiFi and 800/900 MHz Cellular? Range should be up to 10m although 5m is also sufficient. Use case is a simple point to point localisation with "battery free beacons". Is this possible with the IoT Pixel or another device in your portfolio?

  Our Battery Free IoT Pixels harvest Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other 2.4 GHz connectivity technologies from devices such as Bluetooth to Wi-Fi Gateways and BLE-enabled Wi-Fi APs which is why you will need at least a gateway but we recommend also having a bridge.
